Sautéed Potatoes

Sautéed Potatoes

This video shows you how to fry potatoes in a pan (make sautéed potatoes).

Little cubes of seasoned crispy fried potatoes with a fluffy interior and a hint of garlic.

These sautéed potatoes take around 30 minutes, and they’re a fantastic accompaniment to that special dinner.

I particularly like them with creamy dishes like steak stroganoff or chicken in creamy white wine sauce for date night.

Easy Sauteed Potatoes Recipe

Directions:

  • Peel and chop the potatoes into 1-inch (2.5 cm) chunks.
  • Place the chopped potatoes in a pot of cold water.
  • Bring the water to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and drain the potatoes.
  • Shake the pot gently to fluff up the edges of the potatoes for extra crispiness.
  • In a large frying pan, heat 120 ml (½ cup) of vegetable oil over high heat.
  • Add the potatoes to the hot oil. Cook on high heat, turning often, for about 5 minutes or until the potatoes are lightly browned.
  • Sprinkle in ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp black pepper.
  • Continue cooking, turning often, for another 5 minutes until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
  • Turn off the heat and let the pan cool for 30 seconds.
  • Stir in the minced garlic, ensuring the potatoes are evenly coated with the garlic flavor.
  • Serve immediately as a side dish. These sautéed potatoes pair wonderfully with dishes like chicken in creamy white wine sauce or Tuscan chicken.
