Rice cereal coated in melted peanut butter and chocolate, dusted in powdered sugar — you won’t be able to resist muddy buddies!
This classic snack is so easy to make and deliciously addicting.
Ingredients
• 9 cups rice chex
• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1 cup creamy peanut butter
• 6 tablespoons salted butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 3 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
Measure out cereal into a large mixing bowl.
In a saucepan* on the stovetop, melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter together over medium-low heat. Stir all ingredients until they are creamed and melted together.
Add in the vanilla extract and stir.
Pour the melted mixture over the dry cereal. Carefully stir to make sure cereal is evenly coated.
Add coated cereal to a large resealable bag with the powdered sugar and shake to coat.
Optional) Pour out onto a parchment or wax paper lined baking sheet. Let cool and enjoy!
Recipe Note:
Or add the ingredients to a microwave-safe bowl and warm for 1 minute. Stir, then continue to melt in 1-minute increments until the mixture is smooth.
