Easy Monkey Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cans buttermilk biscuits (about 10 biscuits per can)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup light brown sugar
- ¼–½ teaspoon salt (optional, for salted caramel flavor)
- Butter or baking spray for greasing the pan
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 10-inch bundt pan with butter or baking spray.
- Open the biscuit cans and cut each biscuit into four pieces. Place all the biscuit pieces into a large bowl or resealable bag.
- Add the granulated sugar and cinnamon to the biscuit pieces. Toss or gently stir until every piece is evenly coated with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Arrange the coated biscuit pieces evenly in the prepared bundt pan, filling any large gaps and creating an even layer.
- Make the caramel sauce by adding butter and brown sugar to a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts and the mixture comes to a boil. Add salt if desired.
- Pour the warm caramel mixture evenly over the biscuit pieces in the pan.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is deep golden brown and the biscuits are fully cooked.
- Let the monkey bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully invert it onto a serving plate.
- Serve warm by pulling apart the pieces with your hands or slicing with a knife.
Recipe Notes
- Monkey bread is best served warm when the caramel is soft and gooey.
- You can prepare the biscuit pieces ahead of time and coat them with cinnamon sugar before adding the caramel.
- A sprinkle of chopped nuts or a drizzle of icing can be added for extra flavor.
